Ed Shadle in  the 200 mph Club!

One of Ed’s favorite words he likes to use when talking about the North American Eagle™ Team is tenacity.  This past week Ed’s 22 year quest and tenacity at the Bonneville Salt Flats, finally paid off as he was officially inducted into the prestigious 200 mph club!  He now joins the ranks of fellow NAE™ team members Steve Green, Dave Green, Calvin Dirks and Leslie Porterfield into the red hat club!  Read Ed’s account of the eight long days at the 2011 Speedweek.  Photos courtesy of Rachel Shadle’s Facebook Page.

In this Update: Ping Fu CEO of Geomagic visits the Eagle: Photo day as family and friends try to take over the driver’s seat.

It was a shortened but enjoyable day today as Team NAE™ met at our Shady Acres hangar. Several team members and some family members were on hand to greet two very supportive ladies and a key sponsor of our quest to set a new world land speed record of 800mph with the 56 foot long North American Eagle™.  Present were John Winchester, Chris Greene, Brandyn Bayes, Von Armstrong, Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Steve Wallace, Jon Higley, and Don Mitchell.

In this update: 5Ss at the Spanaway Hanger: Ed away on the reservation and preparations  for upcoming test session.

With the one week of summer upon the Pacific Northwest, families across the Puget Sound area scrambled to put together their annual family reunions. Ed Shadle, along with cousins and NAE™ Team members Rob and Larry Martinson headed to Eastern Washington for their annual Shadle / Martinson Family reunion on the old reservation.

Cub Scouts Visit

Every year the Eagle Hanger is visited by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Civil Air Patrol Cadets. Today the future leaders of America came by to get an exclusive tour of the North American Eagle™ by driver Ed Shadle.  Cub Scout Pack 308, Den  3 Webelos Scouts Ben, Russell, Max and Jason are all in the 4th grade and attend Browns Point Elementary School.

In this update: Ed travels to Vancouver to present at the ASEE: Preparation of trailers for upcoming test session: New  website debut: New team member: Lenovo ThinkStations hum with calculations and a gaggle of 14 year old girls invade the NAE™ hangar!

It was another beautiful day at Team North American Eagle™ headquarters as Chris Greene, John Winchester, Omar Chramosta, Jon Higley, Mathew Anderson, Tom Tiede, Brandyn Bayes, Keith Zanghi, Ed Shadle and newest team member Tod Cole met once again to move towards our goal of breaking the 763 mph world land speed record.  Also stopping by was Brandyn’s father Doug and his brother Andrew who turn 12 today.  Happy Birthday Andrew!

It was a beautiful day in Spanaway as team members Chris Greene, Rhiley Sparks, Rich Pengelley, Omar Chramosta, John Winchester, Sam Yellowbird, Alex Shadle, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle once again met to work on the North American Eagle™.  Joining the seasoned veterans today were two new members, Susan West and Brandyn Bayes.
