In this update: SEMA; We say goodbye to Kitty O’Neil
Today’s Featured Sponsors
The work party this week took place 600 miles South in Las Vegas Nevada. Cory, Loren, Les, Lars, Jessi, Marty, and Keith attended SEMA 2018. The Speciality Equipment Manufacturers Association is one of the largest shows in Las Vegas and highlights the automotive industry aftermarket business. It is an event where the North American Eagle® team meets up with our current sponsors and builds relationships for new ones.
Another Racing Legend is Gone: God Speed Kitty O’Neil
Kitty O’Neil with Jessi Combs. Ky Michaelson photo.
Most everyone growing up in the 60s, 70s, or 80s, and reading this, knows of Kitty O’Neil. She was a Hollywood stuntwoman who stood in for Linda Carter of Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, Airport 77, Blues Brothers, and Smokey and The Bandit II. She is also the current fastest woman ever on wheels, at 512.710 mph. In 1979 O’Neil’s experiences served as the basis for a biographical movie, Silent Victory: The Kitty O’Neil Story, starring Stockard Channing. Ky Michaelson a long time friend said upon her passing, she was a very special woman. We agree.

Attending the SEMA show started with us in 2014, when we were asked to put the North American Eagle® on display. The photo above was taken on the last day of that show. We were all pretty tired after a long week of walking miles of aisles, meeting sponsors, and making new ones. Shortly after this, we began the long process of dismantling the car in the parking lot. When fully loaded we were one of the last groups to leave the Las Vegas Convention Center.
