Opening our Spanaway, Wa. hangar to another Saturday work party: Ed Shadle, Les Holm, Von Armstrong, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Omar Chramosta and Eric Wittler from Carson City NV joined us.
|Real Horses showed up at the hanger today!|
Despite the sign above our workbench, Eric brought in his horses and they wielded some hammers for the crew. Real Horses even have their own Facebook page!

Still cleaning up from the Alvord Desert runs, Eric, Les, and Jon worked on the mid wheels compartment and the fairings. Everything was pretty much high speed sand blasted. The fairing were disassembled and treated to some grinding and priming. Eric loves to get into our generous supply of Lizard Skin coating. It has great applications for heat absorbency, weather proofing, and as a protective metal finish. So far, it has been applied to the interior ceiling of our semi trailer, to the afterburner section of the car, and to various fairings and compartment areas. Eric finished up with a new coat to the mid wheels fairings today.
|Von worked over the latches for the nose cone|
|35 Years of AOG experience||Les making a new panel|
Les fabricated a new access panel to the right side upper rear of the fuselage. It is a small panel that disappeared during the speed runs, leaving an opening that needs not to be there. Les fixed that.
