Today’s work went after some vexing problems. During the week, Ed brought the semi trailer to the hangar for some needed work. He laid out plans for adding/moving power outlets and swithches and putting in some additional lighting to brighten up the trailer interior. Ed also did some inspection of the overhead crane assembly and determined a problem with one of the hydraulic pump motors that will either need repair or replacement.
|Jon Higley||Eric Helpenstell & Jon Higley|
Jon and Eric Helpenstell worked in the back of the trailer to put together some additional PVC frame mile markers.
Steve Rima continued to cut and bend copper tubing and replace flexible lines that capture speed data from the pitot tube. The plastic flex lines had a tendency to kink and present problems when taking the nose cone off and reattaching.
Les, Chris and Rich were busy making more room in the lift ram compartment and tracing and removing unused hydraulic lines that were in the way.
John Winchester stopped by to bring some parachute items from his home workshop. He also took one of the canards home as a guide for new protective coverings he is making for them.
Visitors today included Dick Mowry, a recent homeowner who lives just up the taxi way from the hangar. Von took him on a tour of the car.
|The Pengelley Family|
Tom and Shauna Pengelley and their kids dropped in to visit the team. They are down for a family get together after the long drive from the Dakotas. Shauna’s dad, Chuck, is happy to see them and his grandkids. Tom and Shauna were active team members before their job relocation. Tom was a mechanic/semi driver and Shauna a certified fire fighter and EMT. We miss them.
Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving and Hanukkah celebration.
