It was a beautiful Pacific Northwest day when Chris Greene, Larry Martinson, Steve Rima, Steve Wallace, Jon Higley, Andrew Kirk, John Drury, Sean Rondestvedt, Omar Chramosta, Rich Pengelley, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle got a chance to work out with the loading of the North American Eagle™ into the race car transporter for next weekend’s engine test.

The loading today went better than we have ever experienced, thanks to our brand new WARN Zeon 10 winch.  With a large 3/8 cable, the 10,000 lb capcity winch had no problems pulling the Eagle up the loading ramps.  While Steve Rima attached the front canopy, the rest of the team moved to the back of the vehicle and started the process of removing the race axle and replacing it with the much narrower travel axle. It is not a complicated process, but it does need to be done in a squential order.

Following the day of loading the car, the entire team was ready for a good shower!  Loading the car and attaching all of the associated ramps was a greater workout than one you can get at LA Fitness.  By the end of the day the job was done, and the tractor and trailer were ready to be moved to Walrath Trucking at their secured lot.  Next Friday, Ed and Jon Drury will drive the rig down to our test cell at Sanderson Field in Shelton, Washington.
