Ladies and Gentlemen:
In this update: 5Ss at the Spanaway Hanger: Ed away on the reservation and preparations for upcoming test session.
With the one week of summer upon the Pacific Northwest, families across the Puget Sound area scrambled to put together their annual family reunions. Ed Shadle, along with cousins and NAE™ Team members Rob and Larry Martinson headed to Eastern Washington for their annual Shadle / Martinson Family reunion on the old reservation.
Meanwhile back in Spanaway a small team met to do some 5S’s in the North American Eagle™ hanger. Sorting, Sweeping, Simplifying, Standardizing and Self-Discipline are lean tools made popular by Taiichi Ohno for the Toyota Production System. The same lean principles are in use today by major corporations and the North American Eagle™ team.
Next weekend, Ed Shadle, Steve Wallace, Darren Grove and Keith Zanghi will be traveling to Nevada and California as part of an advance team on our upcoming test session.
Thank You NAE Team Members!
On this beautiful sunny day we want to thank NAE members Chris Greene, John Winchester, Omar Chramosta, Jon Higley and Keith Zanghi for this Saturday work session.
Leslie Porterfield New Co-Driver
Leslie Porterfield is now the new Co-Driver of the North American Eagle™.
Leslie already holds the title of world’s fastest woman on two wheels will now do the same later this fall for automobiles.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a dynamic team. I am honored to be part of their mission to go after the absolute unlimited land speed record. This is an opportunity of a lifetime!” Ms. Porterfield states.
The team was also all for the decision by Leslie Porterfield, holder of multiple Guinness Book of Speed Records on motorcycles, to join the team and strive for the world land speed record for women in a different class. Leslie will be piloting the North American Eagle™ during some future test runs. To read more about Leslie visit her website at www.LesliePorterfield.com.
