Test Summary From Ed Shadle

The team and the truck were on site at the air field by 9:30 and began unloading and setting up. We did the engine startup shortly after noon. Our start cart is giving us trouble again so it looks like we have some maintenance to take care of. The Eagle’s engine came to life and ran perfectly. Runs into and out of afterburner were terrific and most of the people in the Shelton area could hear us.

A little side story: The Mason County Fire Department heard the noise and headed toward the airport to see if an airplane had crashed. They were diverted before they could get to the airport due to a reported injury. A fellow heard the terrible noise and jumped out of his window to see what was going on and broke his leg. After the paramedics patched him up and Medic One hauled him off to the hospital, the paramedics continued out to the airport to see what was going on. They enjoyed their tour of the Eagle and told us to call them next time so they can come out to watch. They loved it.
We were all finished with the engine runs by about 1 PM so the team and visitors enjoyed some hamburgers, hotdogs, and refreshments before loading up the Eagle and going home.
All in all, it was a good day. We had fun!!!
