A good turnout for this Saturday: Ed Shadle, Les Holm, Steve Rima, Lars Pedersen, Von Armstrong, Britney Freer, Andrew Kirk, Jason Mitchell, Jackson Kinney, Keith Zanghi, Brandyn Bayes, Omar Chramosta
Ongoing projects were in full swing today. Ed, Keith, and Jackson all had a part in finishing up the new fuselage panel….complete with new closure hardware and fasteners. Keith worked with Jackson in preparing the panel for a paint job, and giving both he and Britney a step by step lesson in applying a new paint coat to an aluminum body finish.
|Chris Greene welding the modified parachute packing tool|
The hydraulic parachute packer has undergone some significant changes that will result in an easier method of packing and compressing the chutes. New extension parts were cut and welded to the frame, adding 18″ of height to the packer. Chris and Andrew wheeled it outside for painting.
|Britney and Von review the new web page|
Britney has taken on the task of reviewing and revising some of the web page information.
Other workings today saw Keith preparing the surfaces of the steering box and components and then applying prime coats. Actually, Keith prepared interns Britney and Jackson to help prepare for the paint job. The covers for the air intakes are also getting a workover.
Brandyn Bayes stopped by to see the team. There are a number of tasks remaining, some cosmetic and some functional, on the way to getting the North American Eagle™ looking its best and running very, very fast on our next runs for the records.
