Larry Boyd from LizardSkin® drops off some product
Shortly after the hangar door was opened this morning, Larry Boyd arrived after a lonely 4 hour drive from Eastern Washington. He brought to Team NAE 16 gallons of an amazing liquid coating that will soon be put to good use. LizardSkin® coating has three very effective properties; it absorbs heat, it provides protection from corrosion, and it has a durable and weather proof finish. It will soon be put to good use on the interior afterburner section of the tail cone and on the roof of the semi trailer.

Computers, computers and more computers!
Steve, Ed, and Keith wielded an array of test instruments, heat sensors, batteries and laptop computers. The makeover of the data acquisition compartment relies heavily on laptops for indepth analysis. What would we do without them?

Keith, Von, and Omar worked on the rear axle suspension. After raising the 6 ton jet car up onto jackstands, the existing anti rotation bracing struts were removed and both they and their support plates are being modified. This will beef up the entire rear axle assembly while maintaining necessary aerodynamic design. Our aerodynamics team is creating CFD Solutions for the final configuration of the car. John Winchester came by to advise that the parachute deployment lines are complete and that the chutes are ready to be packed and loaded into the cannisters!

HP Graphing & Scientific Caluculators are used by all of our Aerodynamic and Mechanical Engineers on the North American Eagle™ The HP 50g is the ultimate in graphing calculators for our engineers. The HP 50g graphing calculator features an SD card slot with formatting functions, RPN~, Algebraic and Textbook data entry, the largest high-contrast screen with more usable space then ever, serial port and USB and connectivity.
Keith, a mathematics major, has been using HP Graphing & Scientific Calculators since 1986 with the introduction of the HP 48sx; then later the HP 48g. After 27 years those calculators are still used today! Many of our engineers have their collection of HP Graphing Calculators themselves. At the hanger on Sunday, Keith pulled out his Smartphone and showed his HP 48 app!
Click on the HP 50g photo above and buy yours today. The price is $150 cheaper then 1986! |

Bend, Not Break depicts a journey from imprisonment to freedom, and from the dogmatic anticapitalism of Mao’s China to the high-stakes, take-no-prisoners world of technology start-ups in the United States. It is a tribute to one woman’s courage in the face of cruelty and a valuable lesson on the enduring power of resilience.
