Rain, rain, and more rain. It was a wet and rainy unload day as Team NAE got into it: Les and Garrett Holm, Ed Shadle, Von Armstrong, Eric Wittler, Steve Wallace, Keith Zanghi, Chris Greene, Omar Chramosta, John Drury, Larry Martinson and friend, Cody.

It was apparent that the weather man was not going to cooperate so the LevX Race Car Transporter was maneuvered into position, rain and all, and our 12+ ton jet car, without the nose cone, was eased down the ramps and into the hangar. The recently reorganized work space is working out well. It will make the upcoming job of removing the huge jet turbine engine much easier. After the October high speed runs, it is time to do some close inspection and maintenance of the engine, and to reroute some internal data lines while the fuselage space is open and accessible.
With the car out of the trailer, the team spent a lot of time making permanent mounting points for equipment in the trailer. In the past, we have been securing the components with ratchet tiedowns. Today the team standardized most of the mounting locations. The little time spent today will ensure safe travels in the future.
Steve Wallace spent his time today completing the survey of the data acquisition equipment and gear, and beginning update work on the rear brake temperature sensors and cockpit gauge.

Maybe it’s the Winter Olympic games that has prompted some of our intrepid team members to head to the high elevations for a ski outing. At last report Ed and Cameron Shadle and Les Holm are meeting up with Eric Wittler on Sunday at Crystal Mountain for some daring do on the ski slopes. Better snow, they say. Faster, they say. O kayyy.
IMS Software New Conference Room
What do you do with left over exhibit materials from the 2012 International Manufacturing and Technology Show? Just like a new car, your presentation at the world’s largest machine tool show must always be fresh; so most companies discard the booths and build new ones each year. IMS Software, long time sponsor of the North American Eagle,™ recycled the booth to make a significant addition to their training center (photo above).
The project makes available all images free to our sponsors, so that they can create their unique work centers too.
