The LeMay Senior Center once again hosted our annual Christmas meeting and breakfast. A large crowd numbering 64 including team members and family. Long distant travelers Eric Wittler from Nevada and Steve Green and the Calvin Dirk family traveled from Canada. Team member Jessi Combs couldn’t make it this year but sent gifts to Ed and Keith. She was working in Maranello, Italy, test driving a Ferrari F1 race car, but did say she would rather be in Spanaway with us 🙂

|Ed awards the Velvet Hammer award to Les Holm|
Founded by the late Ed Drumheller II, the Velvet Hammer award is given each year to a team member who accidently made a mistake, embarrased himself or hurt himself with no permanent marks! It is not an award that one sets out to achieve…it just kind of happens.
This year was a little different, no one met the strict scoring critieria (which is a good thing.)
While traveling to SEMA 2014 in Las Vegas, we had a tire failure on the trailer about an hour into our trip…but no tools to change the tire. The truth is we all forgot about loading the large 3/4 inch drive set used to remove the large semi trailer wheels.
Ed called Les Holm to the front of the room who accepted it on behalf of the entire team. So the 2014 Velvet Hammer award goes to Team North American Eagle™

A new level of support from Lenovo is changing the landscape in our operations. In the very near future, the Landspeed.com website will be residing on servers on loan from Lenovo. A new ThinkServer will now be hosting all the content from the website, and provide storage for our engineering and intellectual property needs.
|Afterburner Docking Stations|
Lenovo is heavily embedded into our daily operations, with ThinkPads and ThinkStations providing support for website production, engineering consisting of mechanical and structural analysis and aerodynamic capabilities. Now we are pleased to announce the addition of new Lenovo ThinkServers to the North American Eagle™ team.
