Ladies and Gentlemen:
In this Update: Ping Fu CEO of Geomagic visits the Eagle: Photo day as family and friends try to take over the driver’s seat.
It was a shortened but enjoyable day today as Team NAE™ met at our Shady Acres hangar. Several team members and some family members were on hand to greet two very supportive ladies and a key sponsor of our quest to set a new world land speed record of 800mph with the 56 foot long North American Eagle™. Present were John Winchester, Chris Greene, Brandyn Bayes, Von Armstrong, Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Steve Wallace, Jon Higley, and Don Mitchell.
Ping Fu, CEO of Geomagic
Taking time out from her busy speaking engagement schedule, Ping Fu and her vivacious sister, Hong Bischoff, visited the team and received the full tour, including some hands on demonstrations and background information on various systems that make up our 50,000 horsepower 6 and 1/2 ton jet powered race car. Ping was INC Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
Ping Fu, the dynamic founder and CEO of Geomagic, has lent her support, technical expertise, and software resources to our project. Challenging the speed of sound at ground level is no small undertaking. Thanks to Geomagic software, working with other technical systems and software programs, Team NAE™ has developed data that predicts aerodynamic forces on and around the fuselage at subsonic and supersonic speeds. Ping Fu’s company, Geomagic, is the leading provider of 3D software for creating digital models of physical objects. Our physical object, the North American Eagle™, can now be viewed from front to rear, all around and upside down at whatever speed we choose. Now that’s magic. Geomagic. Check out their website, geomagic.com for countless applications.
Godspeed to our advance team members, Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Steve Wallace and Darren Grove as they travel down south to California this weekend to seek out and button down a suitable racing venue for our fall test runs.
Leslie Porterfield New Co-Driver
Leslie Porterfield is now the new Co-Driver of the North American Eagle™.
Leslie already holds the title of world’s fastest woman on two wheels will now do the same later this fall for automobiles.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a dynamic team. I am honored to be part of their mission to go after the absolute unlimited land speed record. This is an opportunity of a lifetime!” Ms. Porterfield states.
The team was also all for the decision by Leslie Porterfield, holder of multiple Guinness Book of Speed Records on motorcycles, to join the team and strive for the world land speed record for women in a different class. Leslie will be piloting the North American Eagle™ during some future test runs. To read more about Leslie visit her website at www.LesliePorterfield.com.
