Problem free  load/unload operations are vital to overall success of test runs and display venues.  Moving the six plus tons of North American Eagle™ is no small task and everything must go right.  We have recently modified the loading ramp stand to present a lower angle of travel in and out of the trailer.  This has worked well.  Today the crew went back to work on the loading ramps.  Bottom straps were cut off and ground down to provide a smoother sliding surface when the ramps are manually pulled out of and reloaded into the trailer.  Additional support plates were welded into the bottom interior of the ramp structure.

The trailer was pretty well emptied of  remaining equipment.  The nose cone was unloaded and carted back into the hangar.  The massive running axle was unloaded and reinstalled on the Eagle while the travel axle went back into the trailer.

Looking forward to our October test runs, Ed briefed the team on plans and tasks to be accomplished between now and then; all  based on final approval by the Bureau of Land Management . We are hoping for a quick decision so that team members can arrange their schedules. Our unpaid volunteers must give up their vacation time and adjust family activities in order to continue our drive toward a world land speed record.   Ed, Alex and Cameron Shadle were able to visit the Alvord Desert during their Bonneville Salt Week attendence.  The running surface is ideal, the logistics involved in such a remote location is challenging, and Team NAE is ready to go.
