NAE™ Project: Update September 18, 2007 Ladies & Gentlemen: This evening Ed Shadle & Keith Zanghi gave a presentation to the Royal Aeronautical Society at the Museum of Flight theater, Boeing Field, Seattle, WA. Also present was Jon Higley, who took both video and digital images of the event. Ed & Keith took turns explaining the history, accomplishments, setbacks and plans involved with the project's goal to break the world land speed record in the unlimited, or thrust powered, class. They were presented with a crystal plaque by the MC in appreciation for presenting to the group. Members asked questions of Ed & Keith in the closing Q&A session. Several expressed their admiration for what the team's accomplished thus far and best wishes for our project's coming test session next month, as well as its goal of setting a new record. Present was Hank Hendrickson; a long-time member of our Eagle's Lair club. Hank knew of Ed Shadle while he was working for IBM and is an avid fan of the project. The team thanks him for his support. Also tonight, the Discovery Channel will be airing our one hour television program Mega Builders: Worlds Fastest Wheels. Since the original air date of September 22, 2005 the show has been seen all over the world. In Canada we stopped counting after the show was run 30 times. In America, the show has now aired 21 times! The one hour show directed by Dugald Maudsley features the activities leading up to our first successful test run. The show follows the team as they travel to Magna-Force in Port Angeles, WA and see the remarkable LevX® braking system. Then on to Canada to Eagle Machine, Inc to see the building of the all aluminum wheels and finally to S&S Turbine Services in Fort St John BC where the team performs engine test on the 42,500 hp LM 1500 Turbojet. You can read more about Dugald Maudsley on the very popular IMDb website. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
