NAE™ Project:
Update

September 23, 2006

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Today was the second day of the appearance of the NAE™ at one of its sponsors; Hydraulic Repair & Design in Puyallup, WA. Present to talk with the guests visiting H.R.D.'s facility were Ed & Elaine Shadle, Keith Zanghi & Jolene, Jon Higley, Ed & Barbara Drumheller II, Russell Garlow, Von Armstrong, Rich & Tom Pengelley, Steve & Libby Wallace, John Drury and Sam Yellowbird.

The open house put on by Hydraulic Repair and Design was first class with a delicious assortment of foods and beverages for guests and team members. Gifts of hats, lunch tote bags, pens, key chains, and other assorted items were given out to all visitors. The hospitality of the folks at H.R.D. was top notch. NAE™ is very pleased to have them as a sponsor.

Not only were guests very impressed with our project, but the management of H.R.D. gained a greater appreciation for the level of complexity this project involves in all its aspects. After conversations with the owner, Nick Nesland, about our hydraulic systems, a commitment was made to assist the team in more thoroughly assessing the system's status to determine what needs to be done at this point.

Keith spent some time setting up the Olympus Industrial Hi-speed digital camera on loan to the project for capturing parachute deployment at up to 30,000 frames per second. He was taking some pictures of the clear plexi-glass box the camera will be mounted in to protect it from the dust while sitting on the rear suspension just in front of the rear wheels of the car. Olympus will be using some of the shots to place in a publication later this year about their camera being used on the NAE™.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was when Tanis Hammond visited the car on display. Tanis is one of the few women who have become a member of the 300 mph club at Bonneville. She took the time to share with the team the story behind how that came about. Tanis is also a helicopter pilot and manages a business with her husband.
