Ladies & Gentlemen:

Keith sprays the electronics bay
Jon prepares award for BBQ

Last weekend, August 30th, Ed, Keith & Jon worked at the hangar to paint the bay behind the cockpit in preparation for the installation of various equipment. Keith sprayed, while Jon helped Ed put together gifts to be presented to team members at the next day's party.

On August 31st, the team gathered at Ed & Barbara Drumheller's home in Kent, WA for the team's 1st annual NAE Team BBQ. Marty was presented with the "Velvet Hammer Award" from the team for his most effective use of a tool to obliterate a piece of gear while loading the vehicle at the Mc Chord Air Expo.

Team members Ed, Keith, Jon, Sean, Ed II, Steve and Robert showed up for today's work party at the hangar. Ed worked on the wiring in the bay behind the cockpit for the fuel shut off valve, while Keith put up a few posters on the hangar walls. Ed II did a test packing of a chute into one of the mockup tubes so that Ed could weigh it. Sean turned a few more screws and nuts on the engine and extracted a plate from an extra gear box for Ed to use as a template on another item. Robert took some more measurements and calculated routes for installation of hydraulic lines. Steve brought his instruments, laptop and sensors to collect data on the rear suspension.

Near the end of the day, Ron and his ultra-light flying buddy, John, showed up to take a look at the vehicle in person. Ron and John have volunteered their time to help monitor the race course from the air when the time comes to make runs on the desert.

Later this month the NAE will be traveling east to Yakima to make an appearance at the Central Washington State Fair. This event will occur from Sept. 26th to Oct 5th, so if you're in the area while were there, stop by and say "hello".
