NAE™ Project:
Update Archives

October 31, 1997

Ladies & Gentlemen:

The last couple of weekends have been so exciting for the North American Eagle team. We had a wonderful time with the Tonight Show crew and Jay Leno. With the segment airing on October 30th we are all glued to the tube tonight to see how it all worked out. We're also very grateful to the companies that helped us up to this point in time. Of course Al Lapointe of Security Race Products, Dougs Racing Stables and Don Small and Sons (Unocal) made our lives much easier. We still don't have a sponsor to help with the revenue flow but that may come sometime. The main focus for us is visability. With enough visability, we may attract a sponsor. When we do that, we also must be prepared to move to the next phase of this project. The next phase, other than doing car and air shows, must be looking toward breaking that Land Speed Record, which of course is now 763.035 MPH. I guess that means we change our logo to read "800 MPH". The NAE™ is currently sitting at Ricks house and undergoing some necessary modifications in order to continue running tests at Edwards AFB. The NAE™ team will be meeting this weekend to map out our stategy for the next phase of this project. Maybe we should consider buying the X-15, putting wheels on it and going after Mach 3.

Sincerely,

Edward J. Shadle, Project Manager.
