NAE™ Project: Update Archives October 23, 1997 Ladies & Gentlemen: Probably the biggest change that has taken place in the last thirteen years since Richard Noble broke the world land speed record, is the way the information is distributed to the public. In the past you were lucky to build a relationship with a newspaper man, then hopefully get your story picked up by the wire services. Well the medium you are reading now has changed all that. One of the biggest tools in setting the world land speed record is the use of the Internet. The following is a letter sent to Thrust SSC Webmaster Jeremy Davey by NAE™ team member John Kung. Mr. Jeremy Davey, The following is a copy of an E-mail I sent to your people which distributes your ThrustSSC News: Yes, I would like a CD copy of your great website. Again, congratulations on the fantastic achievement of the Mach 1+ record by the entire Thrust SSC team which includes the members responsible for website publication. Yes, as great an accomplishment as the new World Land Speed Record was, maybe the greater long term impact will be the success of how your website brought in global interest at every stage of the project from the planning to the actual achievement of your goals. The SSC website provided clarity in real-time project status without filtering from mass media. Your utilization of this technology enable sharing the vision and courage of the entire Thrust SSC Team with your supporters whenever obstacles appeared to cloud the sight-line to your target. With your website, your funding model with it's broad base support, has revolutionize all projects of this nature. Indeed, all future projects of any nature requiring funding is impacted by your success. The Thrust SSC Team not only has shown the way through the Sound Barrier on Land, it has also shown the way on the Internet on the possibilities of achieving one's dreams. Regards, John K. Kung, team member of North American Eagle™ Zen Lessons Master Fushan Yuan said, "There are three essentials to leadership: humanity, clarity, and courage." We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
