NAE™ Project:
Update

October 6, 1996

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Ed and Cameron Shadle spent the early part of the day at the North American Eagle™ (NAE) shop performing routine PM (preventative maintenance) on the 48,000 hp General Electric J-79 Engine. The results were a clean bill of health. This task needed to be accomplish prior to next weekend, when the NAE is scheduled to perform startup tests at Spanaway Airport on Sunday October 13th. Beechwest Aviation has graciously agreed to lend their services to help in this test. The NAE is scheduled to attend the Edwards AFB annual airshow the following weekend (10/19 - 10/20). The car will be on static display throughout the two day event. These start-up tests are necessary because the NAE Team has been approved to use the Edwards AFB to run test runs the weekend following the airshow. This weekends test will take give us enough time to fine tune the giant engine prior to the trip to Edwards.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
