NAE™ Project: Update Archives October 7, 2005 Ladies and Gentlemen: Friday Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi traveled to Eagle Machine, Inc in Abbottsford, BC to meet with Steve Green. The three inspected the new LevX® magnetic braking system and verified some tolerances and fit-ups before doing the final fabrication. This new axle is designed to interchange with our original axle and will be used for mid-range speed tests between 400 and 600 mph. This new technology braking system being developed by Jerry Lamb at Magna-Force will be incorporated into this new axle as a proof of concept. While the three were working, they got a call to head over to another North American Eagle™ sponsor, Kodiak Motorsports, Inc. Located just around the corner from Eagle Machine, Inc., the three drove over to meet with Daryle Redlin, President and CEO. Daryl wanted us to see the process of building the new rear wheels. These will be used for our low speed axle assembly. The photos below show the 0.375 inch thick aluminum cut into a circle, placed on the spin forming machine, then formed over the mandrel. Later this week Daryl will finish up all the machining and have it ready for us by next weekend. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
