NAE™ Project:
Update

November 24, 2007

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Today the small group of team members gathered at the hangar to continue cleaning up the massive amount of Black Rock dirt that has infiltrated every nook and cranny of both North American Eagle™ trailers and every tool box and storage tub!  The dirt from Black Rock far exceeds what we ever encountered at Muroc and El Mirage.  Rosco McGlashan, Craig Breedlove and Team ThrustSSC all warned us about dust, but until you have been there it is hard to describe what a mess it can be.

Present today were Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Steve Wallace, Tim Finley, Omar Chramosta and John Winchester.  John was able to get some more work done on the parachute systems.  Steve and Tim reviewed engine electrical systems, while Jon, Keith and Ed moved a lot of dirt!

The aerodynamic team consisting of Mike Thoe, Rex Walter and Ron Doll have been busy.  Above is an example of some of the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis going on.

Folks getting their picture taken with the NAE
Get you picture taken in front of the NAE.

Team NAE™ is pleased to announce its scheduled appearance once again at the B & I Market in South Tacoma, Washington on December 1, 2007. The B&I Marketplace is a big supporter of the project's efforts to regain the world land speed record. We hope that everyone who can make it over to see us there will stop by to say "Hi!" and get their picture taken in front of the car.

Since 1946, the residents in Puget Sound have been coming to the B&I Marketplace. It was billed as a Circus Mall because of the many animals on display, most notably Ivan the Gorilla. In 1994 Ivan was moved to the Zoo Atlanta, where he lives today. Virtually every person in the Seattle / Tacoma area over the age of 30 knows who Ivan the Gorilla is.  Here is the address:

B&I Marketplace
