NAE™ Project:
Update Archive

May 18, 1999

Ladies and Gentlemen:

This past week has been very busy for the North American Eagle™ (NAE™) Team. Last weekend Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi did some extensive work to the new car. The activities included verification fit of the aft most section of the vehicle to the main fuselage. When we purchased the surplus F-104, this section was shipped separate. As it turned out the task was a success, although both team members were pretty well tired by the end of the day. The tests were required because the next part of the project is critical. Steve Green from Eagle Machine came down and picked up the aft section. He will return to Canada to begin construction of the rear suspension. Steve will be busy over the next few months as he builds the precision assembly that will be crucial to the success of the project. We will have pictures of the progress in future updates.

Also this week we took delivery of our new line of NAE™ Racing Apparel. Starting with jackets, the product line will be ready for shipment within the month. The rugged Air Force style jackets feature lots of embroidery. As soon as the pictures and webpages are complete, we'll let you have a look.

Ed just return from a successful trip in the Southern California area. While down visiting the El Mirage races this past weekend, he stopped off at Edwards Air Force Base. Just before leaving he dropped by NBC Studios in Burbank and took in the Tonight Show starring Jay Leno. Following the show Ed met with Jay, but we'll let Ed talk about it in an update in the next few days.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
