NAE™ Project: Update Archive May 26, 1997 Ladies & Gentlemen: Happy Memorial Day! Today is a special day in the United States calendar as millions of Americans pay tribute to the men and women who have fought and served to protect this great land, so that each of us can grow up, raise our families and enjoy life as we wish. The North American Eagle™ (NAE) Team would like to pay tribute to three of our members: Ed Shadle, Ron Norman and Jon Higley who gave up a part their lives, so that each of us could pursue our dreams. Ed and Jon did their tour in the United States Air Force. Ron was in the National Guard. We would also at this time like to thank all our new friends at Edwards Air Force Base. 1997 is the 50th anniversary of the USAF. There will be celebrations all across America. Stop by and show your support at an AFB near you. So to our three special members, and to all the armed forces, ladies and gentleman we salute you! This coming weekend the North American Eagle resumes testing. Top speed should be around 300 mph. Tune in next week for a complete update. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
