NAE™ Project: Update May 19, 2007 Ladies and Gentlemen: This weekend Rich Pengelley, Sean Rondestvedt, Von Armstrong, Steve and Libby Wallace, Sam Yellowbird, Omar Chramosta, John Drury, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle spent most of the day Saturday knocking off a few more items on our long list of items to do prior to our next test session. Earlier in the week, Bernard McVay put a lot of effort in our number #2 mobile fire suppression system. He is setting up a 2nd fire unit for use out on the lakebed. Rich and Sean finished up a storage box for our canards. We are in the process of creating shipping containers for all of our equipment, so it can be stacked up into our number #2 transporter from Eagle Machine, Inc. Von and Ed got their weekend workout and applied some of our What-A-Shine waxes and cleaners to the vehicle. What-A-Shine protective finishes last a long time and protects the car from the harsh environment of the dry lakebed. Since June of last year the team is still working on its original container of What-A-Shine products. The stuff lasts forever! If it last this long on the worlds fastest car, think how long it will last on your family car!
John helped out Steve with some control devices from Opto 22. Von attached some new tie downs to our transport axle and went on to give it a brand new paint job. Ed and Keith finish up some design work on the front end. At the beginning of the week Ed shipped out some equipment to the Starfighters Exhibition Airshow Team. Robin Sipe and his team at S&S Turbine Services will be doing some engine work for the Starfighters Team later this month and we sent them some tools to aid in that effort. In mid-June Ed will be meeting with the team to learn more about their operation. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
