NAE™ Project:
Update

May 9, 2007

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Team North American Eagle™ is pleased to announce that The National Geographic Channel will have it’s world premier showing of Salt Flat Speedway, Thursday May 10th at 9 PM et/pt.

Steve & Nadine

The one hour show features the niece of North American Eagle™ team member and sponsor Steve Green.  National Geographic cameras followed 17 year old Nadine Endacott who drove the rear engine dragster of Steve’s brother Dave.  The show also features world land speed record holder Andy Green as he attempts a new land speed record in the JCB Turbo Max Streamliner.

The episode was filmed at the 2006 Speedweek held at the Bonneville Salt Flats.  Although viewers might not recognize it, the trailer used by Nadine is none other than the North American Eagle™ number two semi owned by Steve Green at Eagle Machine, Inc.  Last year, Ed and Steve partnered together with Dave Green and transported all three cars to Bonneville.

Speedweek 2006 was especially meaningful to Team NAE™ because we were able to spend some quality time with Andy Green and Ron Ayers from ThrustSSC.

Some behind the scenes trivia for those watching the show.  National Geographic Television originally was going to feature the North American Eagle™, but the car was not ready.  Ed then suggested to NG that they ought to talk to Steve Green who was going to have his niece run the dragster that year.  Steve and Dave’s niece Nadine is not only talented, but as the photo above shows is easy on the camera lenses!  National Geographic then proceeded to make her an integral part of the story.

The show will also bring back some memories of Ed Drumheller II for Ed Shadle’s Bonneville Team.  It would be the last time Ed II would make it to Bonneville.  For the previous 5 years he made the journey to Speedweek and helped out many of the racers there, giving parachute clinics for anyone who would listen.  World land speed record holder Andy Green spent a lot of time with Ed II going over the parachute system.

Tune in May 10th at 9 PM et/pt to see this exciting documentary.  Times may vary depending if you have satellite or cable.  Check your local listings for exact times.
