NAE™ Project: Update May 5, 2007 Ladies and Gentlemen: This weekend was very busy for Team North American Eagle™. Rich Pengelley, Bill Eckberg, Sam Yellowbird, Bernard McVay, Mike Thoe, Von Armstrong, Steve Wallace, Scott Robertson, Omar Chramosta, Barbara Drumheller, John Winchester, Marty Schenk, Russ Garlow, John Drury, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle met to knock off some more items on our "to do" list in preparation of our upcoming test session. Working virtual this weekend were Jon Higley (website), Don Mitchell (engineering), John Mittleider (engineering) Patricia Woods (website) and Tim Finley who spent all day Saturday in his machine shop knocking out more NAE™ parts. The week started out with a re-run of our television show, Mega Builders – Worlds Fastest Wheels. The one hour show aired on The Discovery Channel for the nineteenth time! We are more than pleased about the Dugald Maudsley directed show that has been seen all over the world. Our newest Discovery Show called Hyperspeed, is currently airing in the United Kingdom. On Monday Ed, Steve and Keith gave a presentation in Las Vegas. Libby Wallace came along to act as a photographer and answer questions. The event was well received and the team met a lot of real nice people. Ed & Keith with Bernard & Philippe of Dassault Systemes. During the week, Steve Green hooked up with Keith and Ed along with John Mittleider to discuss some of the engineering on the car. John is one of our newer engineers on the team. Bernard and Tim have spent nearly all week burning the midnight oil in Tim’s machine shop. The two save about 3 hours of commute time by staying north and working out of the shop that is next to Tim’s house. I guess readers to the site think most of the team members knock out all the work on Saturdays, but during the week, an army of worker bees pushes on. In the past nine years we have always focused on our weekend work parties because that gets the most publicity, but during the week it wouldn’t surprise us if those totals are just as high. With our goal being the breaking of the 763 mph world land speed record for automobiles, it sometimes seems like a full time job! We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
