NAE™ Project:
Update Archive

May 25, 2002

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Boeing SurplusIt takes a lot of resources to meet the requirements of a project like this.  One of the most visited vendors for the North American Eagle™ team has been Boeing Surplus Sales in Kent Washington.  Known throughout the Pacific Northwest by every kind of mechanically inclined person, if the store were to keep a register of all of its customers, it would read like a who's who.  I would be willing to bet the participants from every type of racing have walked its aisles looking for hidden treasures.  With items ranging from clecos to raw aluminum  Boeing Surplus offers a plethora of "booty" to be discovered.

From Unlimited Hydroplanes to Top Fuel Dragsters, from backyard mechanics to the high tech hobbyist, Boeing Surplus has been the do it yourselfer's superstore in the Pacific Northwest.  Whether you're building parts for your boat, building a workbench in your garage, or even building the worlds fastest car, it doesn't hurt to be living in the same neighborhood as the largest airplane manufacturer in the world.

If your like us we accumulate a lot of stuff around the house that eventually ends up in the garage.  After we stumble around it for a few years, maybe even decades we eventually throw it out.  The Boeing Company throws out a lot of stuff also. The difference is, this is NEAT STUFF!!  Boeing Surplus on a Saturday morning looks like a shoe sale at Nordstrom!  A do it yourselfer's paradise!

The NAE™ could not have been built within its current budget without the availability of parts this store has to offer.  Leather gloves, safety glasses, drills, reamers, aluminum skin, rivets, bolts and clecos are just the few of items that have made its way into this project.

The NAE™ Team gets no sponsorship from Boeing, but we thought you might find it interesting as to what it takes to create the worlds fastest car on a "shoe string budget".

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
