NAE™ Project:
Update Archive

May 24, 2002

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Team NAE™ met with the Bates Technical College staff of the south campus paint facility to discuss details of the painting process Thursday, May 23rd. Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Russell Garlow, and Bill Eckberg from the NAE™ Team met with Bill Byrn, Master Technician, Doug Yarbrough, Instructor, Auto Body Refinishing & Rebuilding, Mary Coffee, Communications Special Assistant, and Cheri Loiland, Director of Instruction / Home and Family Life of Bates Technical College. Also present were Buddy James, PPG's representative for the paint supplier company donating the paint along with Martin Faust, of LDI - Automotive Paints & Body Shop Supplies of Tacoma.

Timeline, from delivery to pick up of the NAE, were gone over, with specifics from preparation, to applications of primer, to blocking for the NAE logo, and the glow-in-the-dark colors for the eagle's beak, white head and tail feathers. The general duration of this process should take no longer than one month; perhaps, less than that depending on how well things go.

Both the NAE™ Team and Bates' staff are excited about seeing the beauty emerge from "the beast".

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
