NAE™ Project: Update Archive May 10, 2002 Ladies & Gentlemen:
Today the crew of Ed, Keith, Jon, Russ, Bill & Glenn were visited by the Glass Oddessy Corvette Club of Silverdale, WA. Ed had to leave for Oregon before they arrived and the crew gave them a tour and explained the background of the project. While Russ continued work on preparing mylar templates, Keith continued work on the mid-backbone panel. Jon worked on making a replacement plate to fit into the forward wall of the engine bay. Bill, who arrived in the wonderful weather on his Harley-Davidson, continued work on the engine. The Corvette Club members bought some t-shirts and were very pleased to have had the opportunity to visit the hangar. Preparations are quickly coming to a close in anticipation of the NAE™ being moved later this month to Bates Voc.-Tech.'s south campus facility where it will undergo painting. Once painted, the vehicle will appear as you see above; viper red with the eagle in glow-in-the-dark orange and white. We can't wait to get a picture of her in the dark doing an engine burn with the afterburner lit and the eagle glowing on the side. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
