NAE™ Project: Update March 8, 2008 Ladies & Gentlemen: Present today were Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Russell Garlow, Bill Eckberg, Tim Finley, Steve & Libby Wallace, John Winchester, Von Armstrong, Rich Pengelley, Eric McClain, Gino Sanfillipo, Omar Chramosta and Sam Yellowbird dropped by briefly. Earlier this week Tim & Bernard traveled to Canada to talk with Steve Green of Eagle Machine, Ltd. to discuss plans for improvements to our front mobilizer. Rich Pengelley traveled to WRSCover-All to get end panels for our 32'x64' enclosure in preparation for our test runs at Black Rock later this year. The first task of the day was to try out our newly received air cushion from our newest sponsor, Paratech. The team tested it to see how well it will lift the front of the car for backing the tow dolly into place quickly for our turn around drill after a run. Many tasks were taken on by the team members. Ed & Omar replaced a leaky tire on one of the Kodiak Motorsports wheels. We will use these rubber tires on our upcoming engine & electrical check test later this month. Rich repaired a louver on a lower access panel, while Ed & Bill looked over and discussed hydraulics schematics of the car. Russ replaced dzus fasteners on an engine access panel, while Tim checked the redundant voltage regulator. John & Gino worked on completing the second parachute tube for the high speed parachutes, while Von, Keith & Omar installed the front windshield assembly. Meanwhile, Bill installed a fuel filter on the American Valley Aviation M32-60B start cart, while Eric McClain welded tabs onto the parachute tubes using the tig welder provided by Central Welding Supply. Next week the team will be loading up the car into the travel NAE™ trailer in preparation for the following weekend's engine test at a local facility. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
