We invite you to...
NAE™ Project: Update March 24, 2007 Ladies & Gentlemen: On hand this weekend were Sean Rondestvedt, Von Armstrong, Marty Schenck, Steve Wallace, John Drury, Omar Chramosta, John Winchester, Keith Zanghi, Ed Shadle and our newest team member, Mike Thoe. Mike will be helping us with aerodynamics on the car. In addition to Mike, we would like to welcome Don Mitchell as a new member. Don will be our CATIA Operator and will help out bringing the ideas into the computer, manipulating them and turning them into functional details and assemblies. In the next few weeks you will be able to read their biographies on the website. This weekend the North American Eagle™ hangar looked more like Universal Studios, than the labs of NASA. Two car clubs stopped by for tours: The Honda S-2000 club and the Vintage Graffiti Club of Tacoma. At one point, Von and Sean had a small valet parking business, and made enough money off of tips to pay for beer! While Keith and Ed kept the guest busy, Sean, Von and Steve were able to get some work done. Sean and Von finished hooking up the remaining engine fuel, hydraulic and cannon plugs from a few weeks ago when we removed the engine. James Bittner from Olympus NDT was on hand to do some testing with one of their Phased Arrray Instruments. The OmniScan™ PA eddy current instrument offers many advantages over regular eddy current inspection devices such as:
Olympus Industrial is a integral part of Team North American Eagle™. Their NDT, Borescope, and high speed video is helping us in a big way to achieve our goal. That’s it for now. Thanks for all the emails this past week. With six showings of the Mega Builders – Worlds Fastest Wheels airing in the previous week, Ed and Jon Higley’s email has been filling up. It is with sadness that we report that Eric Medlin, driver for John Force Racing (JFR) has passed away from injuries sustained during an incident earlier last week. Team North American Eagle was fortunate to work with JFR last December in their annual Holiday Show to benefit the CHIPS for Kids charity. JFR is the best team in the sport of Drag Racing and our condolences go out to everyone in the organization and the family of Eric Medlin. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
