NAE™ Project: Update March 27, 2002 The NAE crew learned today that their project to bring the world land speed record back to America will be featured on Seattle television station's nightly show, Evening Magazine with Jim Dever on KING 5, sometime in the month of May. Back in '97, just prior to the team from the U.K. successfully setting the new world land speed record, Jim Dever and Evening Magazine interviewed Ed Shadle when he was involved with the previous land speed project - AE1. The show featured the story with a tone that the team's only chance at setting a record would be because their vehicle had two seats; an entirely different category for setting a land speed record. Soon after that, the AE1 team disbanded and went their separate ways. However, a few of the members, Ed, Keith & Jon, formed a new team - the North American Eagle - and through established connections from the previous project, acquired the scrap metal condition shell of an aircraft; 56-763. Now, after five years into the new North American Eagle land speed project of restoring the F-104, the NAE team and the dream of their project will be broadcast to local viewers of the Pacific Northwest. Each team member's comments and insight as to why they volunteer their time and skills to a project that, to some, would seem crazy will be featured in this show. So, for those followers of our project who are able to view the broadcast sometime in May, keep checking back for future updates on the project to learn of the exact date for the show's airing. We'll let you know as soon as we're notified by Jim Dever of KING 5's Evening Magazine. National Geographic Update The broadcast date for the National Geographic Channel's show "The Human Edge" is now set for June 29th. Watch your cable broadcast listings for the time in your area. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
