NAE™ Project:
Update

June 2, 2007

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Today Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Bill Eckberg, Russell Garlow, Bernard McVay, Rich Pengelley, Steve and Libby Wallace, Von Armstrong, Omar Chramosta, and Sam Yellowbird made an appearance to work on the NAE™.

Bernard was the first to show up at the hangar and began work on installing the team's school bus rear bumper. He'd spent the evening before building the replacement bumper.

Ed and Omar worked on an air conditioning unit that was installed by Rich, Jon, Steve and Keith, onto the bus's roof top after Bernard cut a hole in it. It works great!

Bill continued work on the new hydraulic steering assembly in the cockpit area, with the help of Russell.

Bernard, Keith and Von completed assembling and testing the new 120 gallon foam tank. It will be mounted on the flat bed of our recently acquired and modified motor home chassis and add to team fire fighting capabilities. Thanks to the following sponsors for their continued and valuable support to the NAE project:

  • To Western Fire and Safety for providing the new foam nozzle and other equipment.
  • To Ballard Hardware for the 1" rubber booster hose and specialty clamps.
  • To N.W. Sports Divers for providing and maintaining pressurized air tanks and regulators.
  • To Covich-Willliams Company for supplying us with a full range of Sorbent products and pads to keep our work areas clean and contaminant free.

Jon spent most of his time working on fine tuning a Power Point presentation he'll be giving next week at a local technical college.

It is expected that the new front suspension box will be arriving back at the hangar from our machine shop - Eagle Machine in Canada - for installation next weekend.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
