NAE™ Project: Update Archive July 22, 1998 Ladies & Gentlemen: The North American Eagle™ (NAE) project is still moving ahead. We've been working on some things that we will announce when they are completed. We've been gathering parts and pieces plus negotiating through red tape. Any project that has any flavoring of governmental support requires miles and miles of red tape. We recently purchased a really wonderful trailer from a company named D&M Machine Company in Montesano, Wa. This trailer was built by a division of the Greyhound Company. It is a Dallas Smith Robotic Automobile Transporter which is capable of loading and transporting the NAE. The trailer is 48 feet long, 102 inches wide and 13 feet 6 inches tall. With this trailer we are capable of loading and hauling six Lincoln Continentals or one F-104 minus the wings and horizontal tail. We're so grateful to D&M for selling the trailer to us at their cost. D&M specializes in designing and building Slashbuster equipment for brushcutting and clearing. They market their products all over the world. If you have some major land clearing to perform, call them at (360) 249-3366, they can help you. Now we just need a Diesel Tractor to pull the trailer with!!! Keith and I are scheduled to attend the American Chemical Society Convention in Boston, Aug 24-25. We will be presenting some information about land speed racing on Tuesday morning in the convention hall. The only catch is that I'll be returning from Bonneville on Saturday morning after a week of racing on the Salt Flats. We fly out that night on the red eye special. Sunday in Boston will be a tough day! Edward J. Shadle, President and Project Manager. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
