NAE™ Project:
Update Archive

July 9,2006

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Team NAE™ members Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, and Jon Higley spent their second day in a row appearing at the Mercer Island's Town Center and were joined today by team member Russell Garlow.

Again, we brought NAE™ Gear and posters to sell, along with the cut-away engine, model of the NAE™ and display signs for interested folks to learn about our project. Thousands came by to look, hundreds stopped to talk and ask questions, and a handful of people offered to try and make contacts through others they know or work with to possibly help us accomplish our goal.

Stopping by to see the NAE™ booth was former Indy Car driver Dominic Dobson. Long time Mercer Island resident and business man, his Dobson Motorsports has numerous automotive and real estate holdings. One of those companies, Motion Research manufactures helmet mounted HUD (Heads Up Display) systems. His primary business is the motorcycle market, but his products have been used in construction, snow skiing, and extreme sports. Team NAE™ will be taking a close look at this technology to see if there are opportunities for improving safety.

Next weekend the team is scheduled to unload the car from the travel trailer and begin work on systems which need attention. At the end of this month, team members will again appear, but this time it will be at the Safety Fair being put on at the Fredrickson Wing Plant of Boeing.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
