NAE™ Project: Update Archive July 15, 2002 Ladies & Gentlemen:
Just as the vehicle was coming out of the paint shop at Bates, an unexpected technical glitch caused our web site to go down for several days. We apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this problem may have caused our devout fans. We certainly hope it doesn't happen again. Last Thursday, July 11th, the newly painted vehicle was loaded into its trailer and transported to the Spanaway Airport where it waited until today to be unloaded. It was unloaded into its hangar at Shady Acres Airport this morning and will now undergo several more modifications. In preparation for its first public appearance at the Puyallup Fair this September, the rear axle suspension will be fabricated and attached. The driver's cockpit must also go through a "make over", so as to be presentable for the viewing public and touch up and detailing of the paint job needs to be done. Team NAE™ plans to sell t-shirts with the NAE printed on front and back at the Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup. These shirts will be unique because they will have glow-in-the-dark paint from PermaGlow. We look forward to seeing local residents visit the team members any day, until 7:00 PM during the fair. The team members will be wearing viper red flight suits with white hats, while students from Bates Technical College will tend to NAE's™ exhibit at other times the team is not able to be present. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
