NAE™ Project: Update Archives January 20, 2006 Ladies & Gentlemen: Today Keith Zanghi, Bernard McVay, and Jon Higley gave a class of 8th grade students at Northstar Middle School in Kirkland, WA a presentation about the land speed project. Students were treated to a viewing of the recent documentary by Discovery Canada's show, Megabuilders: World's Fastest Wheels, as well as a copy of the DVD to take home to show their friends and parents. Bernard and Jon told the students about the project and the importance of setting goals and understanding that anything one wants to do will inevitably encounter setbacks and difficulties along the way. Keith played the role of "Cecil B. DeZanghi", as we like to call him, with the video camera during the presentation. Students were given time to ask questions which both Bernard and Jon gladly answered. Jon presented the teacher responsible for scheduling the presentation with a signed photo of Ed Shadle with the NAE™ for the school. Then, the students went over to the auto shop at the high school next door to see and learn about the cutaway jet engine on a trailer and how one works.
