NAE™ Project: Update Archives January 15, 2001 Ladies & Gentlemen: Not a lot of progress on the old bird (new car) last week, but there was some noteworthy activities that took place. Ed met with one of our sponsor, Aero Engineering while in Los Angeles. You will remember when we took delivery of the 56-763, it was just a few months shy of heading to the scrap yard. In the hands of its previous owner the airframe incurred a tremendous amount of vandalism. Aero Engineering is a manufacturer in Valencia CA that is a supplier to Lockheed. They support the remaining F-104s still flying around the world with parts. Aero supplied us with all the panels we ended up replacing due to the damage. Following the meeting, Ed drove down to Burbank and took in The Tonight Show and gave Jay an autograph picture of the NAE. The same one by the way that is on this weeks opening homepage. Other exciting news that happen to the North American Eagle™ Team was a visit from Aviation Artist Russell Garlow. In the photo above, Glenn Amy and Russ look over his portfolio. Russ has done exciting original artwork that has been put into Lithographs. More news on this in our next update. In other news, the team took delivery of some new tools. With the arrival of sheet metal rollers, shears and a brake the team will have the resources to build quality tin work. Thats it for now. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
