NAE™ Project: Update Archives February 7, 1997 Ladies & Gentlemen: MSN has granted permission to the North American Eagle™ (NAE) Team to reprint Racing Columnist Kim Wolfkill article on the teams effort to challenge the world land speed record. As soon as the article is removed from the MSN site, the NAE™ webmaster will transfer it to this site for everyone to enjoy. Tomorrow NAE™ project manager Ed Shadle flies off to the City of Toronto for the 1997 Canadian International Autoshow. Ed will be doing some tuning on the 48,000 hp J-79 engine as they prepare for the official opening. This years show opens Wednesday, February 12th. The city of Toronto will be shutting down the entire street for three hours on that day. Last time we shut down a city street was last April when the NAE™ made an appearance on the LIVE! with Regis and Kathie Lee Show. At that time the team fired the car up outside the ABC Studios in downtown New York. If Toronto is anything like New York, our Canadian neighbors to the north will be thoroughly impressed. Those people who plan on attending the 1997 Canadian International Autoshow can find a direct link under our Showtime! page. Driving directions, cost and local hotels can all be found on the shows official website. Ed contacted the officials at Edwards AFB today and it appears that all safety concerns have been address. Final approval should be coming soon. Ed has been in e-mail contact with our friend and current world land speed record holder Richard Noble. We have been keeping our British counterparts informed of our progress. Noble's website is huge and contains an extraordinary amount of information. We encourage all our readers to surf on over to Noble's site. You can go there direct from our Competitors page. Representatives of the NAE™ team will be doing driver interviews this weekend. More on this in a later installment. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
