NAE™ Project: Update Archives February 16, 2005 Ladies & Gentlemen: Today Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi and Jon Higley met Bernard McVay, of McVay's Mobile Welding, and his wife Tammy in Abbottsford, BC with the newly rebuilt engine. They met at Eagle Machine which has recently expanded their facilities with the addition of a new building (left above) just over the Canadian border. Steve Green, the NAE™ Machining Specialist and owner of Eagle Machine, Inc., showed Ed, Keith, Jon and Bernard the progress of the rear axle disc brake assembly he's been working on over the past couple of weeks. Donna and Kim, office staff for Eagle Machine, welcomed the team members with warm smiles and kind words as always. The engine was tranfered from Steve Green's trailer it had returned on from up north and was hoisted up and placed on another trailer that was used to haul it back to Spanaway, WA in the late afternoon. During our lunch together, Bernard commented on how smooth the engine sounded when it ran just a few days ago on the test stand of S&S Turbine Services for the Discovery Canada shoot in Ft. St. John, BC. This means that this weekend's work party will involve installing the engine back into the vehicle. The remaining two weeks will have the team safety wiring, checking and connecting everything back up in time for our second attempt at low speed test runs. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
