NAE™ Project: Update Archives February 4, 2005 Ladies & Gentlemen: It takes a lot of people to bring all the pieces together to make the North American Eagle™ come alive and break the world landspeed record one day. If you're a regular visitor to the site you have read about the 30 + regular team members. Each week as the story unfolds a specific team member might be highlighted as they tighten a bolt, install a bracket or weld a piece of metal. Then there are all the people behind the scenes. Those you never read about who are just as important, but not in the limelight. One of those is Todd Giardino. He works for Larson-Davis in Provo, UT and has been instrumental in development of the Eagle’s onboard data acquisition system. Todd has been working closely with NAE™'s data acquisition engineer Steve Wallace for many months now putting together just the right components to monitor the key characteristics that we want to pay attention to during runs. An avid ‘boarder, Todd, quite the schwank airdog, was shreddin’ the gnar one day- bustin' huge air, and biffed into a tree. The trauma center in Salt Lake City dealt with his severe injuries, as he was in very critical condition. We are happy to say that Todd is chillaxin’ at his parent’s place and doing much better. The outpouring of support, best wishes, fruit baskets and flower arrangements have been inspirational during this difficult time. Team North American Eagle™ wishes Todd a speedy recovery. ...and it was a speedy recovery. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
