NAE™ Project:
Update Archives

February 1, 2003

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Ed, Keith, Jon, Sean & Marty - our newest team member - spent today doing several things. First, we unloaded an afterburner section Ed borrowed from Clover Park Tech. College in Lakewood. This will be installed onto the engine which will be on display with the NAE™ at the upcoming B.C. Place Autoshow in Vancouver, B.C. late March through early April.

Sean worked on sorting through the "turkey feathers" for the afterburner for assembly, while Keith shared with the team his schematics he worked up for the canard design, construction, and assembly. Keith plans to build and assemble this unit to the cockpit bulkhead where the nose cone attaches. These will be used to put needed down force on the front of the vehicle during high speed runs.

Ed & Jon worked on placing brackets on the ribing of the inside of the cockpit for attaching the panel. They also began cleaning out the critter droppings with a vacuum from the fuel cell that were still inside after sitting in the boneyard for so many years. Sean fabricated a cover plate for sealing an opening created by unneeded tubing we removed near the filler port we are preparing to install.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
