NAE™ Project: Update Archive December 20, 2004 The North American Eagle™ Team is happy to announce The David Clark Company as an official sponsor and partner. Since 1935 The David Clark Company has been dedicated to the development of products calling for unsurpassed excellence in quality, design and performance. David Clark will be supplying our ground support communications systems. Team NAE will be utilizing their Model H3313 Noise Attenuating Headset for communications when we do all of our engine start ups. Having a safe operation means first having clear communications and the Model H3313 will provide that requirement between the driver Ed Shadle and our engine man Bill Eckberg. The series 3000 headsets are the choice of major airlines and ground support / ramp operations.
When it came to the North American Eagle™ Bill Eckberg insisted on David Clark equipment for our ground support communications. These are the same headsets Bill uses on the Boeing 777 Field Operations. They are the finest, most reliable headsets on the market today. Ed Shadle uses David Clark Model H10-30 Headset when he flies his Beechcraft Skipper.
David Clark has been providing Aerospace Products for over 50 years. Besides communication systems, David Clark has been manufacturing flight suits ranging from the very first anti-g suits in 1941 to the Advance Crew Escape Suits worn by the Shuttle Astronauts. When Lockheed F-104A Serial Number 56-0763 arrived at Edwards AF Base back in the late '50s, the same pilots that flew 56-0763: Scott Crossfield, Bill Dana, Joe Engle and Pete Knight all were using David Clark Flight Suits. Scott Crossfield piloted 56-0763 using David Clark Capstan Pressure Suits when he flew the X-1 rocket plane. Later on Scott Crossfield, Bill Dana, Joe Engle, and Pete Knight, all pilots of 56-0763 used Full-Pressure Suits built by David Clark when they flew the X-15 to record speeds and altitudes @ Mach 6.7 and 354,200 feet. David Clark also supplied the pressure suits used by the pilots of the SR-71 and XB-70: All aircraft 56-0763 was a chase plane for back at Edwards AFB. Finally 56-0763 pilot General Joe Engle used David Clark spacesuit when he flew the Space Shuttle on STS-2 and STS-51. Today The David Clark Company is working with 56-0763 again as Team North American Eagle bring the world landspeed record for automobiles back to North America. Team North American Eagle™ is proud to be associated with a prestigious and industry leader such as The David Clark Company. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
