NAE™ Project:
Update

August 4, 2007

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Today's work party included Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Von Armstrong, Steve Wallace, Sean Rondestvedt, Omar Chramosta, Tom Pengelley, Rob Martinson, Mike Thoe, Barb Drumheller, as well as Tim Finley and our team mascot, Meeko.

Visitors this morning included a long time friend of Ed's - Don Hughes - who brought a couple of friends with him; Ron & Benn Miller to see the car and get a tour of the hangar. Also visiting the hangar were John Mittleider and his son, Jesse.

Ed and Steve worked on getting the short bus wiring done so that the lights worked properly. Tim Finley brought the fixings for grilling hamburgers, so the team had a nice lunch. Meeko was true to her nickname; the Moocher!

The main task today was getting the front steering box's axle frame installed into the box. Preparation of the wheel well's bulkhead included widening the hydraulic access portal.

Some adjustments to the steering actuator were revealed during installation and the team of Ed, Keith, Tim, Steve & Jon spent time later in the day discussing and designing a simple solution.

The next day at the SeaFair Hydroplane Races on Lake Washington, Jon Higley went to watch the boats. He would like to thank Fred Leland, Jerry Hale & his crew for the great hospitality while there.

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
