NAE™ Project: Update August 12, 2006 Ladies & Gentlemen: Photos by Rachel Shadle Earlier last week, some of the members of the team left town for Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. A great deal of preparation was done to be ready for another year's celebration of salt and sun. Meanwhile, today Jon Higley, Steve Wallace, Von Armstrong, Tim Finley, and Meeko held a small work party at the NAE™ hangar in Spanaway, WA to complete some important work. While Tim Finley mounted the voltage regulator into the circuitry bay of the car, Steve Wallace chased down grounding wires in the engine bay that were critical to connect with the engine's generators. Jon Higley and Von Armstrong took what they thought would be a short trip to Wal-Mart in town to get some Red Vines® and ice for the cooler. After standing in the checkout line for over 20 minutes behind the customer in front of us, they finally made it back to the hangar so that all four team members could enjoy some cold beer and Red Vines®. After leaving the hangar in the early afternoon due to other commitments, Jon and Tim were fortunate to catch the 100 year old train engine near the Fredrickson Boeing Plant. It was taking passengers back to Tacoma from a catered meal along side of the track when we came across it. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
