NAE™ Project: Update Archives April 28, 2006 Ladies & Gentlemen: Tim Finley, Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle spent Thursday evening giving a presentation to the Society of Experiemental Test Pilots. Playing to a packed audience at the Pyramid Ale Brewery in Seattle, Ed and Keith gave a one hour presentation, while Tim captured the event with photos. The audience was filled with retired and current test pilots. Many were test pilots for Boeing, but just about 90% of them worked at one time at the meca of experimental test aircraft, Edwards AFFTC in California. Almost all were former Naval Aviators or Air Force pilots. They had many stories to share and the team members enjoyed listenning to all of them. In the audience were five men that flew the F-104 and were station at Edwards AFFTC during the time when 56-0763 was on duty. It was a great evening and the team was honored to speak to such a highly technical group of individuals. We hope we can go back again some day. The presentation was dedicated to the memory of Colonel Brian "Hooter" Simpson, who was a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and has a brief "bio" on the organization's "Last Flights" page. Hooter was friend of the team, and instrumental in our highly successful test session last October at Edwards AFFTC. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
