Visiting today was a friend of Steve Rima, Chris Arnold, resident of Lopez Island. Chris got his first close up look at the the Eagle and worked with Steve.
Last week, the team from CMOS Digital Xray System spent several hours over three days inspecting the aluminum wheels that run our 56′ long 12+ton jet car. They were impressed with the results. There was not a single imperfection or stress line in any of the wheels. They thought the machine work was exceptionally good. Look for an exclusive update in the near future.
Plans are for the engine to be extracted in two weeks. The engine cart was pulled out front this morning and Jon Higley took the lead in giving it a thorough cleaning.
More work on the communications system today. Steve Wallace and Steve Rima further tested ground com with Ed in the cockpit. Voice checks were loud and clear. Rima worked on the van, wiring in the repeater that will be used in range communications. They were also busy testing signal strength and matching to the antenna mounted on the car.
Some tasks ongoing; Cam estimates a couple of more Saturdays work on the panel skins and final riveting. Jason, Keith and Sean continued work on the fairing modifications and on fabricating a new top step plate for the fuselage ladder. Last week Powdercoatings Inc applied a fresh coat of paint to it.
During lunch break, Ed briefed the team on scheduling, work progress, and possible upcoming events.

A new level of support from Lenovo will be changing the landscape in our operations. In the very near future, the Landspeed.com website will be residing on servers on loan from Lenovo. A new ThinkServer will now be hosting all the content from the website, and provide storage for our engineering and intellectual property needs.
Lenovo is heavily embedded into our daily operations, with ThinkPads and ThinkStations providing support for website production, engineering consisting of mechanical and structural analysis and aerodynamic capabilities. Now we are pleased to announce the addition of new Lenovo ThinkServers to the North American Eagle™ team.
