Ed Tests our David Clark Headsets
Work began on a couple of fronts this rainy Saturday morning. The team did a functional test this weekend of our David Clark Communication and Ear Protection Headsets. Ed gave the team a motivational speech that some said was one of his best! All jokes aside, The David Clark Company’s hearing protection equipment ensures ear protection for the team around the very loud jet engine and sometimes noisy shop.
Thor and Lisa Holder at NI Week, Austin TX
We would like to take a moment this week to thank a couple of folks who have really helped us out over the years. Lisa and Thor Holder have been supplying vinyl sponsor decals for over a decade. Their product and quick turn around time made the North American Eagle™ a visually professional looking race car, with the high-quality decals promoting our many sponsors. Often times it would be down to the wire….heading out on a test run or going to an event, and calling on Lisa and Thor for decals needed by the following weekend. They always came through. I guess we got used to this fantastic customer service. Originally, they had a Signs By Tomorrow franchise in nearby Bellevue WA. When they moved to the Houston South location we thought they were gone, but they remained a loyal sponsor.
Recently, they sold the business and the new owners are going to take a different direction. We wish Thor and Lisa all the luck in the world on their next endeavor. We lost a sponsor, but our friendship will last forever. Thank you, Lisa and Thor.
Steve & Cory fabricating a new battery rack
Cory and Steve measured, cut, and fabricated a new rack to secure our array of on-board batteries. Next week David Martinson will weld it up, then we will get it installed. Andrew, Sean, and Ken fabricated a new inner “fender liner” for the front steering box. The metal will give the hydraulic lines some additional protection.
It took a few heavy lifters to get the wheel well box reinstalled into the fuselage. Besides the brawn involved, careful positioning of the floor jacks and the box placement ensured a safe and easy installation. All the efforts this weekend are in preparation for a tour by the National Museum Automobiles Association on Tuesday, March 21st.
