With the US Open Golf tournament happenning at nearby Chambers Bay, a small team assembled once again to work on North America’s next world landspeed challenger: The North American Eagle™ Lars Pedersen, Steve Rima, Eric Helpenstell, Steve Wallace, John Drury, Brandyn Bayes, Chris Banks, Jason Mitchell, Keith Zanghi, Dave Selby, Omar Chramosta, and Crew Chief Les Holm were all in attendance.
Long time sponsor Wolfe Air has been in the news all week. The video they produced for the Boeing Company, highlighting the 787 practicing for the 2015 Paris Air Show, has already exceeded 10 million hits! Slide to the bottom of this page to watch the video. Besides all the spectacular air shots of the North American Eagle, Wolfe shoots nearly every Boeing Delivery Flight. Since 2007 Wolfe Air has participated in every test run of the Eagle. We are so pround we are involved with them!
Wolfgang “Wolf” Czaia is the Deputy Chief Pilot, Deployed Operations for the Starfighters. A longtime friend of the Eagle, he brought by a little gift for the team. A beautiful photo of the F-104D and the American Flag in the foreground.
The two Steves worked in the electronic bay today. Steve Rima has been working on a new Lenovo ThinkPad cooling station. The one of a kind system will keep our electronics humming in 135 degree electronics bay temperatures. The system is installed and working and will be tested at an upcoming engine test. Brandyn Bayes and Chris Banks worked on the website and server upgrades. The work never stops.
Dave Selby and his friend Rob (USAF Ret) stopped by to do a tune up on the M32-60B American Valley Aviation Start Cart. A problem last week was CND (Could Not Duplicate). The two did a verification of all systems and declared it operational.
The Eagle was loaded in the trailer and promptly stored in the hangar.
