In this Update: Rear axle modifications; Data systems; Lunch is served; Team briefing
Today’s Featured Sponsors
A nice turnout of team members today: Les Holm, Von Armstrong, Keith Zanghi, Steve Wallace, Chris Greene, Rich Pengelley, Omar Chramosta, Sam Yellowbird, Bernard McVay, Corey Dawson and Dave Selby.
Work centered on two main projects this Saturday; Keith, Les, and Chris spent the day on the continuing design and fabrication of the newly modified rear axle support components. Relocation and strengthening of struts and their fastening points involves careful consideration and precise measurements. It also requires staying within the guidelines presented by our team aerodynamisists. All things considered, it is not an easy task nor one which can be considered lightly.
Steve Wallace programming the National Instruments Data Aquisition System
The updated data acquisition system with new circuitry provided by National Instruments is being installed and system checked by Steve Wallace. His laptop was humming all day.
Mark Moore with his daughters Samantha and Brooke, and niece Opal
High point of today’s work party: Mark Moore, our loyal sponsor from Uremet Corporation, arrived in his spanking new red Jeep Wrangler, loaded with lunch for the crew and some delightful passengers. Uremet Corporation manufactures wheels for over 75% of the world’s roller coaster and amusement car rides. Some 400 parks world wide run on Urement wheels.

Mark’s daughter, Brooke, served up Mark’s homemade chili and cornbread. Her cousin Opal Moore and sister Samantha Smart, kept Brooke company and took the tour with Keith as tour guide. We think they enjoyed it. We know that it was a tasty treat for Team NAE. Big thank you from the team.
Keith gave a brief update to team members on the status of current projects and test sessions.

Ping Fu, Founder and CEO of Geomagic, has a new book
Ping Fu (next to Ed) and her sister Hong – Their story in a new book, Bend, Not Break.
Bend, Not Break depicts a journey from imprisonment to freedom, and from the dogmatic anticapitalism of Mao’s China to the high-stakes, take-no-prisoners world of technology start-ups in the United States. It is a tribute to one woman’s courage in the face of cruelty and a valuable lesson on the enduring power of resilience.
